Matt McAllester is a contributing editor at Details magazine. For 13 years previously he was a reporter for Newsday and spent much of that time as a foreign correspondent. He has covered conflicts in Kosovo, Israel and the Palestinian Territories, Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkey, Nigeria and Lebanon and has reported in numerous other countries including Burma, Egypt, Morocco, Iran, Bosnia, Albania, Macedonia, Argentina, Spain, Poland, Germany, Italy, France and Montenegro.
