Events & Appearances
I'll be reading at an event at the Donna Karan flagship store at 819 Madison Avenue, near 68th Street, on May 19. The event goes from 6 pm to 8 pm and is, in part, a benefit for Helpusadopt.org, a wonderful charity that provides funds for people who are struggling to meet the high costs of adopting a child.
Half King bar in Chelsea. I'll be giving a reading at 7 pm at this most excellent bar on 23rd, just west of 10th Avenue.
Look out for me on the current edition of A Chef's Table, the wonderful NPR food and cooking show hosted by chef Jim Coleman out of WHYY Philadelphia. Times vary depending on your local NPR station but you can hear the show here: http://www.whyy.org/91FM/chef/index.html. I'm on at the 39-minute mark.
Larry King has chosen Bittersweet as his current book pick! Many thanks to all concerned at CNN. Here's the link:

If you're in the lovely city of Seattle - I'll never forget stepping off a Greyhound aged 19 and finding the heaven of Pike Place Market - then you can hear me this Saturday, April 18, on KIRO's show, Tom's Seattle Kitchen, at 4:30 pm. Tom will be broadcasting live from his own mom's kitchen!
My friend Matt Rees, the brilliant crime novelist, has featured a Q&A with me on his blog. It's called The Writing Life. http://mattbeynonrees.blogspot.com/2009/04/writing-life-matt-mcallester.html
